Love the Moon

It starts with a passing glance
It soon becomes something special
She sees him every night
Always there, more and more
His presence lights her life
Highlights her beauty, every night
Every night, a bit more, a bit brighter
'Til one night, bright as day,
Seems it will never end.

The next night something's off
Something's wrong, not quite right
A few more shadows dull her face
Every night she sees less of him
Bit by bit, her nights get darker
One night he gives her just a glance
The next, she's alone in the darkness
