I've been bored lately, so I decided to make some art. I'm going to do a series of mixed media 2-part pieces based on Nintendo DS games, which would sort of illustrate how differently the screens are used from game to game, or something. I figured I'd start with Brain Age because: A) It was already in the system at the moment and B) The minimalistic design should make it simple to do. I forgot about how it's annoying as heck to do text by hand. I think it came out all right. Now that I think about it, I probably should have used a screenshot that included some handwriting, but ah well, the "book" layout will differenciate it enough.
Materials used:
Main title and copywrite notice are printed from MS Word
Prof. Kawashima is made from black and orange constuction paper and painted with Gouache (opaque watercolor)
Colored menu bars are made from constuction paper, "MENU" is cut from paper and other lettering is done with colored pencil.
(There's a mechanical pencil between the "screens," to give a sense of scale, but it's still hard to tell.)
